Cezar Bononi was labeled a future star of NXT after signing up with WWE in 2015.

However, he was one of the unfortunate wrestlers included in the company’s list of wrestlers released in 2020 as part of the budget cuts during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bononi was primarily involved in NXT, making his television debut in 2017. Upon his release, he found residency in the now-defunct AEW Dark and became a show regular until March 2023.

Bononi spoke to Denise Salcedo, confirming that his days of appearing on weekly TV have ended.

I don’t plan to get back on TV. My body feels so good right now. Wrestling is really, really bad to the body. So my body feels so good. I still love wrestling. I still want to be part of that. I still want to have my matches. I want my son to actually see me wrestle and enjoy his four. He was really afraid of the noises, so he never watched it, even though I took him to a few shows.

While Bononi has not completely stopped wrestling, he mentioned that he was picky while selecting the matches.

I’m being very picky with whatever matches i’m having. If it’s a client of mine, of course i’ll do it, but travelling weekly, I think that part of my life is (behind me).

Cezar Bononi’s Live Beyond WWE And Wrestling

Lately, fans have been able to spot Bononi regularly at Boca Raton Championship Wrestling in non-wrestling roles.

He has always been into fitness, confessing that he helped wrestlers here and there before deciding to turn it into a full-time business.

Bononi has been credited by various wrestlers, including Eddie Kingston and Ethan Page, for transforming their physiques.
