Ex-WWE Star Wants To Join AEW After Release
A former WWE star has expressed her interest in joining AEW.
Tegan Nox signed with the Stamford-based company in 2017, making various appearances in NXT and NXT UK.
She would make her main roster debut in July 2021, competing in a tag team match with Shotzi against Natalya and Tamina.
Nox also participated in multiple women’s Royal Rumble events.
Unfortunately, the Welsh star would sustain multiple knee injuries during her WWE run, keeping her out of in-ring action. As a result, she was first released in the summer of 2021.
After bringing her back in December 2022, WWE would use Nox sparingly, only to release her again in 2024. Later, Nox admitted to finding life tough post-release.
Tegan Nox Wants To Join AEW After WWE Release
Since her release, Nox has wrestled in the independent circuit under a new name, Nixon Newell.
Newell admitted to having an interest in joining AEW and competing in dream matches with the in-house talent during a recent interview with Wrestling in the Middle.
I would love to go there. There’s so many people there that I want to wrestle like I really want to tangle with Toni [Storm] again. I wrestled Toni, yes, many years on the indies. So I’d like to, you know, revisit that.
However, she also admitted to feeling that there is a lack of interest from the Florida-based company.
As far as I know, I don’t think there’s an interest from them, which is a shame. But I would love to go there.
Newell even stated that TNA is on her bucket list.
Before winding up, she named Molly Holly, Beth Phoenix, and Toni Storm as inspirations.
