An ex-WWE star has recalled coming close to shaving their head.

During the summer of 2020, Mandy Rose was wrapped up in a feud with her real-life friend and former tag team partner Sonya Deville.

The pair went on to meet at SummerSlam in a “Loser Leaves WWE” match which Rose won, enabling Deville to take a hiatus. The match was originally scheduled to be “Hair vs. Hair.”

Just before the event, Deville was the target of a kidnapping after stalker Phillip Thomas broke into her home, causing the match to be changed. In May 2023 Phillip Thomas was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

In a new Q&A session for Monopoly Events, Rose reflected on working with Deville and what would have happened if the match had gone ahead as originally planned.

“Working with Sonya was great because we were best friends and knew each other so well. There was no bad will, we always took care of each other. We were each other all the time, so we talked about wrestling.

Working with her during that whole time, it was weird again, because of COVID, unfortunately. If we did do the hair vs. hair match, would I have shaved my head? It depends, they would have had to pay me to shave my head a little more.”

Mandy Rose Could Return To WWE

During the same appearance, Mandy Rose revealed her wrestling career isn’t over despite not wrestling since 2022. Mandy Rose was fired by WWE in December 2022 just one day after she lost her NXT Women’s Championship to Roxanne Perez.

WWE felt they had no choice but to release Rose given that the company had gotten wind of the explicit content she was selling on her exclusive content site.
