A former WWE star and her new tag team partner walked out of AEW Collision on November 8.

On the October 25 edition of Collision, Nixon Newell made her AEW debut alongside Miranda Alize, confronting Anna Jay and Tay Melo backstage.

A week later, Newell and Alize made their in-ring debut as a team, losing to Marina Shafir and Megan Bayne.

Newell was released by WWE for a second time on November 1, 2024, having not appeared on television for several months. The star only returned to the company in December 2022 after being let go a year earlier. Alize had previously wrestled on AEW Dark.

Following their debut, it was reported that neither Newell nor Alize were under contract with the company.

On the November 8 episode of Collision, Newell and Alize were set to face Tay Melo and Anna Jay. This would have seen the newcomers lose, but they had other ideas.

According to a report from Mike Johnson via PWInsider, the pair “baulked” at being asked to lose for a second week in a row and left the taping just an hour before the match. They were quickly replaced by Hyan and Maya World, who did the honors as required. Hyan and Maya World “earned points” backstage for stepping up at such short notice.

Bryan Alvarez added that there were issues the previous week, and people were surprised that Newell and Alize were brought back.

A further update from Fightful Select stated that Newell and Alize didn’t expect to win the match, but they wanted more than the allocated three minutes for the bout.

Writing on social media after the news broke, Alize stated, “We have SOOOOOOOO much to say ……………”
