A former WWE Superstar has revealed the reasons why they turned down an “incest angle” during the Attitude Era.

Ken Shamrock made his name in the world of UFC as the promotion’s inaugural Superfight Champion before moving into the world of pro wrestling in the late nineties.

During his time in WWE, Shamrock captured the Intercontinental Championship and the WWE Tag Team Championship alongside The Big Boss Man as part of Vince McMahon’s Corporation. The crossover star also claimed victory over The Rock to become the 1998 King of the Ring.

However, there were some things the company asked of Shamrock during his time there that he wasn’t willing to do. Speaking on Steve Fall’s Ten Count, Ken Shamrock revealed he was asked to be part of an incest storyline with the woman who played his on-screen sister, Ryan Shamrock:

“Then there was another thing they wanted me to do this incest angle with Alicia, who played my sister. If I wasn’t married and had kids and you know, all this, I would have done it, but just not for me. Like, I mean, I was already in the mainstream. I’d already built my name. I was already down the road. I already had a family and that just wasn’t for me. But if you’d asked me when I was 22 or 23 years old, absolutely, but just not the right time for me.”

Ken Shamrock also explained why he was uncomfortable at being asked to compete against Chyna in a WWE ring as well.
