A former WWE Superstar tragically lost his life after being fatally shot on Friday.

According to Lt. Shannon Jenkins, spokesperson for the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, Kevin Nikel, who competed on NXT under the ring name Knuckles Madsen, was shot shortly after midnight in the area of east Rodgers, Arkansas.

The former wrestler was bleeding from his abdomen when police arrived on the scene. Although he was transported to a nearby hospital, he sadly passed away there. Authorities have not released any further details about the homicide, according to ABC 4029 News.

Kevin Nikel competed in NXT between 2012 and 2013 and shared the ring with current WWE stars, such as Rusev and Bo Dallas.

Wrestling Promotions Issue Statement Regarding The Ex-WWE Star’s Tragic Death

Dog Pound Wrestling, TSW, and NWA Texas issued a joint statement on social media regarding the tragic passing of Kevin Nikel, who died at the age of 41.

The three promotions emphasized that Nikel’s contributions to the wrestling industry would not be forgotten, extending their thoughts and prayers to the former WWE star’s family and friends.

NWA Texas is saddened to learn of the passing of Kevin Nikel, professionally known as Ivan Warsaw & Knuckles Madsen. His contributions to Professional Wrestling will never be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this time. Rest in Peace.
