Ex-WWE Star To Challenge For AEW Title
A former WWE star is the next contender for an AEW championship as Konosuke Takeshita will putting his gold on the line once again.
At WrestleDream, Will Ospreay defended his AEW International Championship against both Ricochet and Konosuke Takeshita in a three-way match. After Ricochet was driven through a table, Ospreay looked to have the bout won after he dropped Takeshita with a Hidden Blade.
Don Callis, however, pulled the referee from the ring before he could count the pinfall and then tried to attack Ospreay with a screwdriver. Ospreay put a stop to that but he was then nailed from behind by Kyle Fletcher who well and truly turned his back on him. That all allowed Konosuke Takeshita to win the first gold of his AEW career as he became International Champion.

Takeshita put his gold on the line at Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling when he faced TNA star Josh Alexander and now he’s set to defend his title once again outside of Tony Khan’s company.
New Japan Pro Wrestling has revealed that at Fighting Spirit Unleashed on the 8th of November, Takeshita will defend his AEW International Championship against ex-WWE star TJP.
TJP won the 2016 WWE Cruiserweight Classic becoming WWE Cruiserweight Champion in the process. He remained a key part of the 205 Live roster until he left the company in 2019.
