Ex-WWE Star Joined Company Because They Thought Wrestling Was Fake
A former WWE talent has admitted that they only signed up with the company because they thought wrestling was fake.
In recent years, WWE has pushed its NIL deals for college athletes, opening the doors to the world of sports entertainment to those who aren’t necessarily familiar with it or have been fans.
One talent who signed up with WWE in recent years was Alexis Lete, who joined the company in August 2022 and left just over a year later in September 2023. Lete did not appear on television during her time in the company but was training at the Performance Center throughout.
Speaking to Adam Metwally on That One Time, Lete was asked about the biggest myths in pro wrestling and says anyone who thinks it’s fake couldn’t be more wrong:
That it’s fake. It’s a lot more real than you think. Everyone is like, ‘Oh, wrestling is so fake.’ I signed up to be in WWE because I thought it was fake. I didn’t think I was going to get injured. I didn’t think I was actually going to be doing stuff that hurt my body and potentially damage me for the rest of my life.
It’s a lot more real than people think it is and your body is so friggin’ sore. I feel like, for the year and a half I was there, my nervous system was constantly in fight or flight mode because of the bumping and constant wear and tear on my body.
WWE Star Vacates Title On Raw
In other WWE news, Naomi has relinquished the Women’s World Championship as she announced her pregnancy on Raw. Naomi had been pulled from a planned title defence against IYO SKY on the previous week’s show, with the company only noting the star was not medically cleared to compete.
