Ex-WWE Star Taking Break From Wrestling
A former WWE superstar is apologizing to fans after announcing on social media that she needs a break from pro wrestling.
Cora Jade was among the WWE releases in May, just a few weeks after WrestleMania 41. It is something that WWE does most years in the weeks following WrestleMania, where they feel the need to cut some talent.
In Jade’s case, many people were surprised that they would cut her, considering she is only 24 years old and has a lot of untapped potential. Injuries slowed down her career, but she was somebody who had a bright future.
In her post-WWE career, Jade has used the name Elayna Black in pro wrestling and has been busy since she was eligible to work for other promotions.
However, Black announced on social media that she’s taking a break from wrestling because it’s no longer good for her mental health.
I originally had a 10 minute long video explaining where my head’s at, and maybe eventually l’ll post it but seems unnecessary for now. I’ll keep it short but I am going to be taking a break from wrestling for the foreseeable future. It’s no longer good for my mental health and I’ll never know if that love for it I once had will return if I don’t step away. I’m gonna take the rest of the year to take care of me and go from there. I apologize to the fans and promoters who were looking forward to/booked my upcoming appearances. I hope you can understand. To my supporters, thank you

Elayna Black Feels She Was Body Shamed In WWE
Following her WWE exit, Black took some shots at her former employer, which is not uncommon for wrestlers who used to work there.
According to Black, she was body shamed by people in WWE.
“I definitely think things could’ve went differently if it weren’t for certain things like the bodyshaming thing, I came in at 19 years old, I was like 110 pounds, I was so small.
It was constant comments, whether it was from guys who think they were being funny, or, I’m not gonna name names again, but I remember specifically being told that I wasn’t and wouldn’t be champion in that company because I looked like I couldn’t crack an egg — Multiple conversations about my body, which I don’t think anyone, especially as another man, should be saying that to a female, I was so young and it created a lot of issues for me body wise.
But obviously I gained so much muscle after that, I worked my ass off.”
We wish Elayna Black all the best as she takes some time to figure out what is next for her, whether that involves pro wrestling or not.
