Ex-WWE Star Takes Shot At Company While Discussing Kevin Owens Injury
A former WWE star has sent a warning to Kevin Owens over how he was treated following his own injury.
On the April 4th edition of SmackDown, Kevin Owens announced that he had suffered a serious neck injury that would require surgery. The news means that Owens will no longer be taking on Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41, a match that was set to be one of the biggest at the annual spectacular.
Another star who suffered a major injury during his time with the company was Karl Anderson. Anderson is currently recovering from surgery on a torn rotator cuff and partially torn labrum and is expected to be out of action for at least six months. The injury happened in November 2024, and Karl Anderson was one of multiple WWE stars released in February 2025.
Unsurprisingly, Anderson is unhappy with his treatment from the company, and on the latest edition of he and Doc Gallows’ podcast, Talk N Shop, The Machine Gun made that clear, saying he hopes Owens “is not released two and a half months after major surgery.”
“I don’t know anything about anything. I’m not in the middle of anything. I don’t know anything about storylines or how his health is. I don’t know his injury status. I don’t want to comment on that.
“Here’s what I’m going to go with. If Kevin is really hurt, which I’m not saying he is or isn’t, I don’t have any idea. I haven’t followed. I’m barely involved. I’m just going to say this; I hope, if he’s really hurt and he has surgery, I hope he is not released two and a half months after the major surgery. That’s all I’m going to say. I hope that doesn’t happen to him.
“I hope that it’s a work and Randy [Orton] attacks him and they have a match at WrestleMania. If Kevin is really hurt, I just hope two and a half months after his recovery, everything is going well.”
Kevin Owens Positive About Making In-Ring Return
In the aftermath of his injury, Kevin Owens believes he is “pretty likely” to return to the ring. The star was speaking ahead of talking to surgeons to find out the specifics of his recovery period but thinks he could be sidelined anywhere from six months to a year. When he does come back, The Prizefighter is hopeful of picking up where he left off and getting to face Randy Orton at WrestleMania.
