A former WWE star has made their long-awaited return to the company.

When Miro debuted with AEW in September 2020, hopes were high that he’d finally be able to fulfill the potential many felt he had in WWE. However, by the end of 2023, all momentum had evaporated and the star was routinely linked with a return to the sports entertainment giant.

Incredibly, Miro didn’t wrestle for AEW again after his bout with Andrade El Idolo at Worlds End that December, but he remained with the company until February 2025. In fact, he’s just wrestled just once since that final AEW outing.

Miro initially found fame as Rusev in WWE where he won the United States Championship three times during a 10-year stint with the company. But finally, after months and indeed years of speculation, it seems he’s finally back with his former employer.

Rusev On Brink Of WWE Return

According to a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the star was at WWE headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut all day on April 2. Sources confirm that the former Rusev has re-signed with the company and was at HQ to “set the stage for his return.”

Interestingly, his partner CJ Perry, wasn’t with him.

There’s no word on when the star will return to television, but he’s now officially “back in the mix.”

The news comes after it was reported that Rusev might not return to WWE until the summer or fall.
