Ex-WWE Star Makes Shock AEW Debut On Collision
A former WWE Superstar has arrived in AEW.
During a backstage segment on the October 25 episode of AEW Collision, Anna Jay and Tay Melo were interrupted by Nixon Newell and former AEW Dark regular Miranda Alize.
The pair said they’d come to AEW as that’s where the best wrestle, to which Melo replied that she and Jay love a challenge. Although a match was teased, no announcement was made.
Newell was released by WWE for a second time on November 1, 2024, having not appeared on television for several months. The star only returned to the company in December 2022 after being let go a year earlier.
Back in August, fellow former WWE Superstar Isla Dawn debuted with AEW during a Collision taping in Glasgow, Scotland. However, the match appears to be a one-off as the star hasn’t featured for the company since.

Elsewhere on the show, a Four-Way Match was announced for Dynamite featuring Ricochet, Hook, Bobby Lashley, and Samoa Joe. The winner will go on to face “Hangman” Adam Page for the World Heavyweight Championship at Full Gear.
Page had earlier opened the show, promising to take the fight to Samoa Joe and The Opps.
