Ex-WWE Star Indicted On Sexual Exploitation Of A Minor Charge
A former WWE star has been indicted after alleged attempted sexual exploitation involving a minor.
The District Attorney General Chris Stanford of the 31st Judicial District of Tennessee issued a press release noting that Mike Droese has been indicted on one count of attempted aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.
The allegation states that on April 21, Droese used a Coinbase account to purchase child pornography from the dark web. The transaction was terminated before it could be completed, and the FBI was tipped off to the attempted purchase.
Eventually, Droese turned himself in to the Warren County Sheriff’s Department and was released after posting a $10,000 bond. His arraignment was set for May 28. Following his indictment, Droese was immediately terminated from his position as a DUI coordinator for the district’s Adult Recovery Court Program.
Who Is Ex-WWE Star Duke Droese?
Mike Droese is better known to WWE fans as Duke “The Dumpster” Droese. A character right out of Vince McMahon’s “wrestlers with other jobs” playbook of the mid-nineties. Droese made his debut for the company in early 1994, where he shared the ring with enhancement legends such as Barry Horowitz, Iron Mike Sharpe, and Duane Gill.
Droese’s run in the company is most remembered for his feud with Triple H, then known as Hunter Hearst-Helmsley, which led to Droese entering the 1996 Royal Rumble as the 30th entrant. Despite that, Triple H ended up winning the feud decisively, and Droese had his last match in the company in July of 1996.
Duke Droese returned for two dark matches in 1998, and his garbage man character earned him a recall for the Gimmick Battle Royal at WrestleMania 17, won by The Iron Sheik.
