Ex-WWE Star Sets Record Straight With Bayley After Insulting Comments

Bayley returned to WWE programming last week on RAW to everyone’s surprise.

The former women’s champion attacked Becky Lynch to retaliate for Lynch’s assault before WrestleMania 41.

On the recent episode of the red brand, she again got the better of the women’s Intercontinental Champion after the latter attempted a sneak attack.

Bayley has garnered widespread respect and admiration from many wrestling fans since her NXT days.

However, one person who stands out from that crowd is former WWE personality Jonathan Coachman.

When she was out with an injury, Coachman had called her “washed up” and said she was “nothing.” His comments on The Last Word podcast drew criticism from fans.

Neither she nor the WWE officially responded to his comments.

Jonathan Coachman Drags Bayley Again

On the same podcast, Gabby LaSpisa expressed her excitement about the former NXT champion’s return and said she would closely follow her storyline with Lynch.

Coachman followed up by claiming credit for Bayley’s strong return and addressed her directly.

So, Bayley, I know I’m going to be quoted and you’re gonna read it. Understand that I never insulted you. I insulted your character. That’s different. TKO has taught us that. You guys are two different people. You’re not one and the same.

So, I would like an apology and I would like a thank you because that big old chip, that Coach chip that you had on your shoulder, you knocked it off tonight and you did a great job, and I’ll give you that. And that is how a heel cuts a promo. [44:55 onwards]
