A former WWE SmackDown Superstar will make their TNA debut very soon.

During the September 5th episode of TNA Impact, a mysterious vignette was shown teasing the arrival of a new star.

In the clip featuring a figure standing behind a fire, a voice-over delivered a cryptic message. Although the identity of the person in the video was hidden, all the clues point to them being former WWE star Xia Li.

The initial spark is a symbol of my awakening. And from this point on… there’s no turning back,.

The star initially joined WWE in early 2017, becoming the first Chinese woman to sign for the company. Li spent time in NXT before moving to the main roster in 2021, however, over the next three years she was rarely given a consistent run on television.

In late 2023, Li wrestled Becky Lynch on Raw before unsuccessfully challenging Lyra Valkyria for the NXT Women’s Title.

After being released by WWE in April 2024, Li headed out onto the independent scene under the name Xia Zhao.

WWE/NXT Relationship Continues

During the same episode, NXT star Arianna Grace was named the liaison between the brand and TNA. Grace is the real-life daughter of TNA authority figure and former Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella.

The second-generation star introduced NXT’s Karmen Petrovic who successfully challenged Jordynne Grace for the TNA Knockouts Title.
