A former WWE star is set to compete in the ring for the first time in well over three years.

At a West Coast Pro Wrestling event on Saturday night, former NXT star Timothy Thatcher continued to assault JT Thorne following their match against each other. Chris Hero made the save for Thorne and chased Thatcher off before Thatcher returned to the ring to attack Hero.

Hero gained the upper hand and challenged Thatcher to a bout on November 17th at West Coast Pro Wrestling’s Whiplash event.

Chris Hero competed in WWE over three years ago

Chris Hero last competed in the ring back in March 2020 when he was still a part of the NXT UK brand in WWE and known as Kassius Ohno. On that occasion, he was part of a battle royal to find a new number one contender for the NXT UK Championship which was won by current NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov.

Since leaving WWE, Hero has worked behind the scenes in the wrestling world and is reported to have joined AEW as a producer in recent months. Whether or not this will lead to a more permanent return to the ring for the 43-year-old two-time Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champion remains to be seen.
