Ex-WWE Star Says Release “Isn’t The End Of The World”
A former WWE star has given an honest assessment of their departure from the company.
On June 1,Carlito announced that he would be leaving WWE when his contract expired.
After making a brief appearance at the 2021 Royal Rumble, Carlito featured at Backlash 2023 before re-signing with the company. He initially formed part of the LWO before moving to Raw and joining the Judgment Day.
The star had previously worked for WWE between 2003 and 2010 where he won tag team gold twice, as well as the Intercontinental and United States Championships.
Carlito Reflects On WWE Exit
During a new interview with D-Von Dudley, Carlito was asked about his latest departure from the company. He explained that while he wasn’t happy about being informed his contract wasn’t being renewed, he’s still a professional. The former Judgment Day star added that being let go wasn’t “the end of the world.”
“It’s the other, the contract ended and they wanted me not to renew. It was two weeks out and I never went to them, they never came to me. So, yeah, they call it like two weeks out. You don’t have to come to the RAW or whatever. I’m professional. I don’t like that they- I’m a professional. I’ll come in. I’m not going to come in whatever.
It’s a live show, so you want pre-tape my stuff. So I don’t go AWOL or anything. But I’m a professional. Treat me like a mark or something. I’ll do my job and yes, whatever. It’s not the end of the world either.”
Back in June, Carlito said that he was more hurt by R-Truth’s WWE release than his own because he never got a proper send-off. Luckily for Truth, just a week after being informed he was being let go, he returned to the company after agreeing to a new contract.
