Ex-WWE Star Pitches Huge Rematch With AJ Styles
A former WWE star has pitched a return match with AJ Styles, decades after they last shared the ring together.
AJ Styles will get to beat up John Cena in one of the final matches of Cena’s career when they clash at Crown Jewel in Perth, Australia. WWE made fans think they were the ones who got the huge match made, but it seems the company was trying to pull a fast one with that idea.
AJ Styles has made clear that his own in-ring career is winding towards its end. But before he hangs up his boots, could he really get back in the ring with a former WWE star whom Styles last wrestled almost two decades ago?
AJ Styles Named As Dream Opponent By Ex-WWE Star
Speaking with Wentworth Bros Entertainment, Jimmy Wang Yang was asked who he’d like to get back in the ring with if he ever returned to WWE, and he could look no further than the phenomenal one:
Definitely AJ (he’d want to face in WWE), because we have such history. I’m actually undefeated against AJ, that’s another trivia question for you, he’s never beat the Yang.
WCW, TNA, wherever else, but never in WWE, but that’s my boy, my Georgia, so that’s who I would like to have like ‘finish the story’.
AJ Styles and Jimmy Yang were on opposite sides of the ring in the very first match to air as part of TNA Wrestling in 2002. The Flying Elvises, comprising Yang, Jorge Estrada, and Sonny Siaki, defeated Styles, Lo-Ki, and Jerry Lynn in a six-man tag team match in a decision that has only been made to look stranger and stranger as the years have gone by.
