A former WWE star made their TNA debut at the promotion’s latest set of tapings.

During the September 5th episode of TNA Impact a mysterious vignette aired hyping the arrival of a new star. Although the identity of the figure wasn’t revealed, all clues pointed towards it being Xia Li.

The star began her career with WWE in early 2017, becoming the first Chinese woman to sign for the company. Li spent time in NXT before moving to the main roster in 2021, however, over the next three years she was rarely given a consistent run on television.

In late 2023, Li wrestled Becky Lynch on Raw before unsuccessfully challenging Lyra Valkyria for the NXT Women’s Title.

After being released by WWE in April 2024, Li headed out onto the independent scene under the name Xia Zhao.

Lei Ying Lee Makes TNA Debut

During the latest set of TNA tapings at the Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio, Texas, Li made her debut under the name Lei Ying Lee defeating Hyan.

Elsewhere, Joe Hendry earned a shot at the World Championship after defeating Frankie Kazarian. Hendry had been confronted by Kazarian earlier in the show after he said he deserved a World Title shot after beating Josh Alexander at Victory Road.

World Champion Nic Nemeth then suggested the pair should meet in a number one contender match. Kazarian was initially declared the winner after using brass knuckles, but authority figure Santino Marella restarted the match.
