One former WWE star is heading back to American Ninja Warrior.

In May 2025, WWE released several stars from both the main roster and NXT. Braun Strowman, Shayna Baszler, Dakota Kai, Katana Chance, and Kayden Carter were among those let go.

Katana Chance and Kayden Carter captured both the NXT and WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship during their run, and now one of them is returning to familiar surroundings.

Katana Chance is best known outside of WWE as Kacy Catanzaro, and before she joined the sports entertainment giant, she was a part of American Ninja Warrior. And now she’s going back.

Speaking on the Lightweights podcast after her WWE release, Catanzaro explained that she had more things she wanted to accomplish on American Ninja Warrior before she left her show to start her wrestling career:

I know that when it comes to American Ninja Warrior, when I did leave, it was for a good reason. But I know that there were more things I had wanted to do or more things I feel like I was capable of.

And when it comes to wrestling, I’m very grateful for my time there. And I also feel the same way where I know that there are things that I’m capable of and there is potential that I wasn’t able to show. So, that’s hard to walk away from, you know what I mean?

Catanzaro was part of American Ninja Warrior since 2013 and left the show after signing with WWE in 2017.
