Ex-WWE Star Goes After Gold In AEW Debut
A former WWE star has challenged for gold when they made their debut in AEW.
It’s been announced that AEW will be heading to the 2300 Arena, better known to fans as the ECW Arena, at the end of August and into September. This will see the famous venue host three episodes of Dynamite, three episodes of Collision, and ROH’s Death Before Dishonor.
Back in early April, AEW boss Tony Khan said he would love to run a taping at the ECW Arena, noting that he’d be very interested should the opportunity present itself.
But before that, Tony Khan brought in a former ECW World Champion with designs on more gold on Dynamite.
It had already been announced that former ECW, TNA, and WWE star Rhino would be making an appearance on Dynamite in his hometown of Detroit. However, The Man Beast ended up competing for gold in his debut in Tony Khan’s company.
Rhino Makes AEW Debut
On the show, Nick Wayne was told he’d be defending his ROH Television Title against a “man from Christian Cage’s past.” That man turned out to be Rhino, but somehow Wayne managed to escape with his title after dropping his challenger with Cage’s own Killswitch.
Rhino spent the early part of his WWE career in the corner of Edge and Christian during their famous tag team rivalry with The Dudley Boyz and the Hardy Boyz.
