Ex-WWE Star Takes Shot At Gable Steveson After NFL Switch
Gable Steveson is moving on to a new career and a former WWE wrestler has taken a shot at the NFL hopeful.
After winning an Olympic Gold Medal in freestyle wrestling at the 2021 Tokyo Games, Gable Steveson signed WWE to a contract. At the time, it was a huge deal because Steveson was just 21 years old and a phenomenal athlete with a bright future.
In early May 2024, the 24-year-old Gable Steveson was released by WWE with reports citing that the company was frustrated with his lack of progress as a professional wrestler.
It was announced on Friday that Gable Steveson has signed with the NFL’s Buffalo Bills even though the 6’1″ 270-pounder has never played American football before. Apparently, Steveson impressed the team enough to sign him and he’ll likely compete for a roster spot in training camp this summer.
Upon seeing the news, former WWE superstar Cameron Grimes, who is back to using his Trevor Lee name post-WWE, went on Twitter/X to take a shot at Steveson with a comment questioning Gable’s work ethic in WWE.
Whichever one requires the least amount work and has other people make him look good I’m assuming? Wait wrong sport….

How Many Matches Did Gable Steveson Have In WWE?
During his three years in WWE’s system, Steveson only competed in one televised match. That match was against Baron Corbin at NXT’s 2023 Great American Bash. It was a disappointing match that ended in a double countout while the fans booed Steveson throughout the match even though he was a babyface.
Following that NXT failure, Steveson competed in several dark matches prior to WWE Smackdown events. Apparently, officials weren’t impressed and decided to release him. Steveson’s opponents in those matches were the likes of Cedric Alexander and Cameron Grimes, who as you can see above, was not impressed with Steveson’s WWE run at all.
