Ex-WWE Star Feared Rumors Of Affair With The Rock Would Spread

A former WWE star told a wild story involving her and The Rock.

Saraya joined the Stamford-based company in 2011. She spent about three years in developmental before making her main roster debut in 2014. Five years later, a movie named “Fighting With My Family” was released, highlighting the 33-year-old former Divas Champion’s life.

It was produced by The Rock’s Seven Bucks Productions, WWE Studios, and several other production companies. The Final Boss also starred in the film alongside several major stars, including Vince Vaughn, Florence Pugh, and Lena Headey.

Saraya First Met With The Rock Backstage In WWE

During a recent interview with Sonya Deville and her wife, Toni, on their podcast, Daria & Toni Unwrapped, Saraya recalled how the movie came about.

She disclosed that she first released a documentary about her life on YouTube, which The Rock stumbled upon while he suffered from insomnia during a filming trip to England. The WWE legend then met the former Divas Champion backstage at WrestleMania because his daughter, current NXT General Manager Ava, was a fan of hers.

The 33-year-old detailed her first meeting with the current TKO board member in his dressing room, pointing out that she feared people would think she was having an affair with The Rock after he ordered everyone else out during their chat.

So, I had met him at WrestleMania because Ava Raine was a fan of me back then, right? When she was much younger. So, I took a picture with her at WrestleMania before he pulled me into his dressing room, right? So, I took a picture with her and then later on I get like a text on my phone and it says, ‘Hey, it’s DJ. I would love to speak to you at some point.’

And I was like, ‘Who the f**k is DJ though?’ I didn’t know he had a nickname. I didn’t know we’re on that basis. I’m like, ‘Who the f**k is DJ and why the f**k is he texting my phone?’ Like, come on brother. I was sitting next to [Dean] Malenko. And you know how Malenko can be. I love him so much. And he goes, ‘That’s f**king Dwayne Johnson, you f**king idiot.’ And I was just like [shocked]. He cussed me out in a jokey way, guys. He’s so funny.

But I was like, ‘Oh my God!’ And I was just like, ‘Oh my God! How do you text this back?’ So, I’m like playing it cool. Like, ‘Yeah, whatever, brother. Come get me whenever you need.’ I’ve got nothing planned here. I’m just here because, you know, how like NXT would be brought up to watch WrestleMania and stuff just to experience it, you know. And so, like within 5 minutes, one of his crew came and got me and he was like, ‘Paige, can you come with me please?’ And I’m like, ‘Sure.’ I was like very serious, you know.

I get in the room, he tells everyone to leave. And I was just like, Oh my God! Perception is reality here. Everyone’s just seen me go into Dwayne Johnson’s room and everyone walking out.’ I was like, ‘Nothing’s going on, brother.’ But, oh my gosh. So, I go in there and he was like, ‘Hey, I’m DJ.’ And I’m like, ‘You f**king yeah.’ I’m just like, ‘Nice to meet you, DJ. I’m Saraya.’

So, he told me the story about being in England, watched the movie, and then he was like, ‘So, I’m gonna make a movie on it.’ And I was just like, ‘What?’ And I’m, bear in mind you guys, I’m 21 years old at this time. Thirty three now. So, it was a long time ago. But I was just like, ‘Oh my f**king God. And so, I just start crying hysterically because I’m just like, ‘What the f**k.’

Saraya disclosed that The Rock tried to calm her down before telling her that he was in the writers’ room and had heard that she was debuting the following night on RAW and would win the Divas Championship from AJ Lee. As she continued to weep, The Final Boss became concerned. Meanwhile, he asked her to keep their conversation between them.

As Saraya walked out of The Rock’s room, she found herself face-to-face with his cousin, Tamina. The latter asked her what she was doing there. Instead of spilling the secret, the former Divas Champion told her she was a fan of The Rock and ran off.
