Ex-WWE Star Ready To End 16-Year Heat With Randy Orton
A former WWE star is ready to clear the air after 16 years with Randy Orton.
Randy Orton might be a respected veteran and bona fide future WWE Hall of Famer in 2025, but The Viper has not always been as beloved by those he had to share a locker room with.
Many WWE fans remember the infamous moment Orton broke character to call Kofi Kingston “stupid, stupid, stupid” during a match between the pair. It’s also been the commonly told story that Orton and John Cena both lobbied for former WWE US Champion Mr Kennedy to be fired after some unfortunate in-ring moments led to injuries.
Those high up in WWE listened, and Kennedy’s career in the company was brought to a sudden halt.
Mr Kennedy Wants To Bury The Hatchet With Randy Orton
Speaking to Championship Sports Blog, Mr Kennedy reflected on his feelings towards both Cena and Orton, coming to the conclusion that any ill-feeling was only hurting himself:
Oh yeah, for sure. For sure. There were years where I hated those guys. But then one day I realized that me hating them doesn’t do anything. They don’t care. The only person that hurts is me. They always say hating somebody is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.
Kennedy then noted that when he returned to a WWE show in 2020, he was able to sit down and talk with Orton, but would still like the chance to properly clear up any remaining bad blood:
I still have friends who work there. And yeah, I happened to run into Orton. We didn’t talk about the incident, but we had a 45-minute conversation and it was fine. I’d like to sit down with him at some point and just clear the air.
