Ex-WWE Star Details “Gross” Kiss With AJ Lee

AJ Lee had a prominent storyline with ex-WWE star Dolph Ziggler (aka Nic Nemeth) in late 2012 and early 2013.

The storyline began when The Geek Goddess turned on John Cena to help Ziggler win a ladder match at TLC in December 2012. After this betrayal, they were a couple on TV, accompanied by her bodyguard, Big E, until their story ceased around July 2013.

Ziggler recently had an interview with Chris Van Vliet, where he discussed his WWE storylines, one of them being with AJ Lee. He detailed Vince McMahon once booked him for a kissing segment with Lee, and he specifically asked him to make it gross, to which he complied.

“With AJ [Lee] too, he wanted, like, gross, and I’m like, ‘I’ll give you gross, brother.’ I said, Are you cool with this? Yes. I’m cool with it too. We are going into where he said this. We’re going to make them come in the back and go, take back a notch,” Nemeth said.

Ziggler also discussed having multiple romantic storylines with numerous female stars in his WWE career. He felt the company used him in those angles to make up for the fact that they didn’t give him enough title runs. He said it was Vince McMahon’s way of rewarding him without giving him a title shot.

I got to a point where I’m like, “Oh, okay. Vince likes my work, but doesn’t think I should be the world champion; but my reward is to get chicks or something. In his mind, I think that was real, like he’s too small to be world champ, but he gets ladies, or I don’t know.

By the way, the “reward” it’s not like real-life kissing; there are cameras, and everyone’s there, and everyone’s uncomfortable. Everybody’s dating somebody else, and everyone’s standing there, and you’re like This is the worst thing ever…
