Ex-WWE Star Declined $600 Chance To Buy Back Unique WWE Item
A former WWE star has revealed they turned down the chance to buy back a piece of the company’s history after originally selling it.
Over the years, WWE has generated a huge amount of merchandise and memorabilia that are the stuff of dreams for fans. Whether it’s original title belts, ring-worn gear, or limited edition action figures, there’s no shortage of items wrestling fans want to spend huge amounts of money on.
Maven was the first-ever male winner of WWE reality series Tough Enough, earning a contract with the company and a run on the roster that lasted for four years. As a result of his major win, Maven earned the Tough Enough trophy, but once his time in the company came to an end, he sold it off to the highest bidder.
Maven Refused To Buy WWE Trophy
Speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Maven revealed he was given the chance to buy back the trophy but turned it down as he had no idea what he’d do with it:
Two years ago, I was at a dinner, and the guy who has the Tough Enough trophy was there, and he came up to me. He was like, ‘I’m the one that bought your Tough Enough trophy.’ I was like, Oh, that’s cool. He’s like, ‘Yeah, you want to buy it back from me?’ I’m like, Nah, keep it. He wanted 600 bucks for it. I’m like, ‘You keep it.’
Then I’m thinking, I’m like, What am I gonna do with it? I tell Zach that and he’s like what?! What I would do with it? I don’t have kids, so there’s no one to leave it to. If I did that, I would do something where I made a video about hunting it down, getting it and then I would figure out a way to give it to a fan.
