Ex-WWE Star Tells Corey Graves To Embrace His Role

Corey Graves on WWE Raw

A former WWE announcer has told Corey Graves to embrace his role because he’s “lucky to have it”.

In the aftermath of returning to NXT at New Year’s Evil, Corey Graves has made his unhappiness with WWE known. In a now-deleted post on social media, Graves claimed his move to NXT came after he was told he wasn’t “famous enough for his own job,” likely alluding to Pat McAfee and Joe Tessitore still being on the call for Raw and SmackDown respectively.

Later, he followed up the post with a message claiming he would have “a lot say” on NXT. That didn’t happen though, as Corey Graves was pulled from NXT on the day of the broadcast.

Jonathan Coachman Gives Blunt Advice To Corey Graves

While it is currently unknown what the future holds for the star, former WWE star Jonathan Coachman has told him he should “embrace whatever role” he is given. Coach added that top announcers like Jim Ross and Michael Cole had been in the same situation “multiple times.”

“So Corey is upset for being bumped from the main announce roster. Happened to JR 5 times. Happened to Cole multiple times. Happened to me multiple times. He is right he is really good at his job. But playing in the sandbox a little bit better might not hurt next time. Embrace whatever role you have and understand that you are lucky to have it. There are only 3-5 of these jobs at the highest level.

“Who knows maybe they asked him to be a part of a 3 man booth. We know he doesn’t like that. lol. Sorry had to. Last line a joke. The rest it’s the wrestling business. It happens.”
