Ex-WWE Star Makes Shocking Claim About Company’s Backstage Politics
One ex-WWE star has given a shocking insight into the backstage politics in the company that keep certain people from getting on top.
Karrion Kross and Scarlett have left WWE after their contracts came to an end, but their situation is far from clear. Several reports have noted WWE expect both Kross and Scarlett back despite Kross explaining that their contract offer to him was pulled after 24 hours when he questioned how they arrived at the dollar amount they were offering him.
Speaking on Talk’n Shop, former WWE stars Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows discussed the Kross situation, with Anderson giving some insight into the backstage politics in the company that might be at play that they also suffered through:
It was a very different time, and we tried, we definitely tried. Trust me, guys, we tried. When I was the NEVER Openweight Champion, there could have been so much stuff we could’ve done. Sometimes, when you’re just not a chosen one, and I don’t mean that in a way….you can fight through walls, I’m just saying. When you’re just not one of their guys, you’re just not one of their guys. No matter what.
Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows were released by WWE in 2020, just days after they were featured in the WrestleMania 36 main event between AJ Styles and The Undertaker. They returned to WWE in October 2022 despite Anderson being the reigning NJPW NEVER Openweight Champion. Anderson was allowed to defend that title in NJPW, losing it to Tama Tonga in early 2023. Anderson and Gallows were released again by WWE in February 2025.
