Ex-WWE Star Calls CM Punk “Reckless”

CM Punk

A former WWE opponent of CM Punk thinks that the Hell in a Cell winner was perhaps too reckless against Drew McIntyre.

The rivalry between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre saw the two bitter rivals step inside the infamous Hell in a Cell structure at WWE Bad Blood in Atlanta. It was a bloody battle between the two former WWE Champions, who went to war for 30 minutes in front of a raucous crowd.

CM Punk bled first in the match, but Drew McIntyre bled more. That’s because Punk hit McIntyre with a toolbox in the head, which caused McIntyre to bleed profusely throughout the match.

It was reported by PWInsider that McIntyre was legitimately busted open from the toolbox shot and he needed 16 staples to close the wound in his head. Punk would go on to win the match by hitting the Go To Sleep knee to the head after wrapping a chain around his knee. Punk pinned McIntyre to win the match.

During Punk’s entrance at Bad Blood, announcer Michael Cole noted that it was Punk’s first time in a WWE Hell in a Cell match since he beat Ryback at the Hell in a Cell 2012 PLE.

Ryback is a former WWE superstar who isn’t thought of highly. When Punk spoke about his WWE departure in 2014, he spoke about how Ryback was an unsafe worker and he didn’t like working with him.

It seems like Ryback hasn’t forgotten Punk’s words since Ryback went on social media to call Punk “beyond reckless and very dangerous” while quote tweeting the cut head of Drew McIntyre.

“I’ve never done this or anything close to this to any of my opponents. I would say whoever did this to him is beyond reckless and very dangerous to work with.”

Clearly, Ryback knew what he was doing by referring to things that Punk said about Ryback in the past, so it was a way for Ryback to say it about Punk in a tongue-in-cheek kind of way.

CM Punk Revealed When His WWE Return Deal Was Signed

In a recent interview, CM Punk confirmed that his WWE return at Survivor Series in November 2023 was a last-minute thing so much that he didn’t have a contract signed and agreed to until literally a few minutes before he appeared in front of the fans in Chicago.

Next up for WWE on the PLE calendar is Crown Jewel on November 2nd and Survivor Series on November 30.
