Ex-WWE Star Blasts Triple H For Being “Dictator” Backstage

Triple H WWE

Recently, Triple H has been the target of considerable criticism from fans and former wrestlers alike for his backstage work as the Chief Creative Officer(CCO) of WWE.

Triple H and his decision-making came under fire once again after booking John Cena to lose his final ever match at Saturday night’s main event (SNME) on December 15th. The never-seen 17 was seen tapping out with a mild smile on his face after being put in an inescapable sleeper hold by his opponent, Gunther, who had earned his shot at being Cena’s final opponent via the Last Time Is Now tournament that was contested on RAW and SmackDown in the weeks leading up to SNME.

Fans in attendance were livid after the unexpected result and erupted with You F**cked up chants directed towards Triple H and booed him out of the building. Since then, many fans and former wrestlers have taken to social media to voice their discontent over TripleH’s booking of matches and overall storytelling in WWE of late.

MVP calls Tony Khan a “visionary” and Triple H a “dictator”.

One former WWE superstar did not hold back any punches when sharing his thoughts about Triple H being the creative head at WWE. The wrestler in question is MVP (Montel Vontavious Porter), a major star in WWE, especially during his initial run from 2005 to 2010, when he went on to make history as one of the longest-reigning United States Champions ever, holding the belt for a whopping 343 days.

He currently performs in AEW as the on-screen manager of ‘The Hurt Syndicate’ under AEW founder Tony Khan.

In a recent interview on Q101’s wrestling segment, The ‘Franchise Playa’ was asked about the differences in how creative is handled between the two companies. He was quick to praise Tony Khan for being collaborative with the wrestlers despite having a clear vision of his own.

“Tony allows a lot more input and Tony is—you know, he has his vision that he wants and he works with the talent and allows a lot more input from the talent into what creative path is going to happen.”

Without outright naming the CCO of WWE, MVP made a statement saying that Triple H is more like a “dictator” backstage and commented on how different the work environments are in both promotions, with AEW’s being far more comfortable, according to him.

“Whereas the nose, he is a little bit more dictatorial—emphasis on dick. It’s ‘this is what we’re doing and this is how it’s going to be and this is what I want. At WWE, it’s very, very tense. Very corporate. You got a lot of young talent that are walking on eggshells… a climate of fear. A lot of people worried about losing their job. That doesn’t exist in AEW. I think Tony—I’m just going to be blunt—I think Tony is just a better human being, a better person all around than this guy.”

MVP went on to say that the AEW locker room is devoid of fear or Paranoia which plays into their advantage while working.

“Tony doesn’t operate that way. He’s created a culture where it’s relaxed and fun. You’re not walking around scared of getting heat or getting fired. That helps psychologically.”
