Ex-WWE Star Blasts “Creep” CM Punk

CM Punk WWE

A former WWE Superstar has doubled down on their criticism of CM Punk.

During a recent interview, Matt Riddle launched a bizarre attack on CM Punk, claiming he’s been told by friends in WWE that he’s a “b*tch to work with.” He added that if Punk didn’t “generate the amount of money and attention” that he does, he’d be fired.

Riddle spent five years with WWE between 2018 and September 2023, when he was ultimately let go. Following his departure, the former United States Champion revealed that he was suspended twice for failing drug tests for cocaine.

CM Punk returned to WWE two months after Riddle’s exit, making his famous comeback at Survivor Series on November 25.

Matt Riddle Takes Aim At CM Punk

During a new interview with TMZ Sports, Riddle was asked about his earlier comments about Punk, and he quickly doubled down. The star said that Punk is a “b*tch” and a “creep,” while challenging him to “step up.”

“Well, let’s be honest. Did I lie? CM Punk’s a b*tch. He can’t beat me if he wants to step up. He can meet me in a bare-knuckle boxing fight. He can meet me in an MMA cage, whatever, dude….I have no ill will towards CM Punk.

I bet he’s a nice enough guy if you agree with him, but I don’t, you know, and I think he’s fake, and I think he’s a creep. And that’s coming from me. And people think I’m a creep. I haven’t done anything wrong.”

When asked to expand on the reasons behind his comments, Riddle pointed to Punk’s mentorship of younger female talent in NXT, stating he’s “lingering around the locker room too much.”

“I don’t know. I feel like he’s just lingering around the NXT locker room a little too much…that’s one way of putting it. You know, whatever, dude, I don’t care. I didn’t come on here to talk about CM Punk.”

Meanwhile, Matt Riddle has come under fire for no-showing a charity event in the UK. The event was designed to raise funds and support survivors of domestic abuse and homeless veterans.

According to the report, Riddle is also yet to return the deposit he was paid by Global Wrestling Kingdom for the evnet. It should be noted that Riddle disputes these claims.

Back in WWE, CM Punk is set for an on-screen reunion with his wife AJ Lee. According to reports from several outlets, Lee will team with Punk against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch at Wrestlepalooza for her first match in a decade.
