CM Punk has been involved in quite a few controversies in the past, and it is no secret a lot of people don’t like him.

One such person with whom he shares a beef is ex-WWE star Matt Riddle. Riddle has openly criticized Punk quite a few times, but this time, he had something controversial to say about his wife, AJ Lee.

Riddle has publicly called Punk a fake and a creep in recent interviews. While Riddle claims to hold no personal ill will toward Punk, he has expressed frustration with Punk’s behavior and perceived presence in WWE, especially around the NXT locker room.

Riddle suggested The Second City Saint lingers too much backstage and implied that he’s difficult to work with. Moreover, Riddle challenged Punk to a bare-knuckle boxing or MMA fight, confidently asserting he would defeat him. The two have never worked together in WWE due to their non-overlapping tenures.

Matt Riddle Comments About AJ Lee

A few hours ago, Matt Riddle had a virtual sit-down with TMZ’s Inside The Ring podcast for an exclusive interview. Since AJ Lee is the talk of the WWE town right now, former WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee also got brought up in the conversation. As Riddle was talking about his existing issues with CM Punk, he made the statement that he did not have any direct issue with Punk’s wife; however, he then quickly made an additional remark that was quite controversial.

“AJ, you know, I have no problems with her. She never stepped into it,” Riddle said. “I mean, to be fair, and I’m not one to talk – I’m a little f*cked up myself – but she did go get around from what I heard. But no disrespect to that. Hey, it’s whatever. People like to hook up, people like to hook up. And if that’s the worst thing he did, whatever, dude. I’ve done it too. But yeah, no ill will towards anybody else.”

Lee is reportedly on her way back to WWE after a decade of absence. She is expected to join her husband, CM Punk, in a storyline feud against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch, who screwed him at Clash in Paris and humiliated him on Monday Night RAW.
