Ex-WWE Star Admits They Have Heat With AEW’s Tony Khan
Sitting in the higher echelons of an organization is a position of responsibility.
Tony Khan is one such individual who is the president of WWE’s closest competitor, AEW.
Both companies have butted heads in the past and continue to do so, though the Stamford promotion is miles ahead when it comes to delivering quality content.
During a recent episode of The Coach & Bro podcast, Jonathan Coachman and Vince Russo discussed the possibility of Austin Theory being the masked man who showed up during the WarGames match at Survivor Series.
Coachman then casually revealed getting heat from Khan due to a comment he made regarding Britt Baker.
I know I got heat with Tony Khan over just saying Britt Baker wanted to go to the WWE. Really? That bothered you…that…on our show? Who doesn’t wanna go to the WWE if you are not being used on another show? That’s all we said. That should not get under anybody’s skin. [24:48 onwards]

Former WWE star CJ Perry upset Tony Khan back in 2022 when he husband, Miro (Rusev), was signed with AEW.
While appearing on 92.7 WMay, Perry claimed that Miro’s WWE character Rusev would never die. Speaking recently on TMZ’s Inside The Ring, she recalled the incident, where she also claimed everyone returns to WWE, referencing Miro, which annoyed the AEW boss.
I needed to plead the Fifth because I was doing too many interviews to make him go viral. And then Tony Khan would call him and be pissed (…) We do a 6 a.m. radio interview in Wisconsin. This is like nothing on media, this is just a little phoner, you know, 5:45 for like North Dakota. I love North Dakota. And next thing you know, it’s going trending on Twitter for four days.
And Rusev returns. Not Mero at AEW, but Rusev. And it’s because they asked me, ‘Do you think he will ever return to the Royal Rumble?’ And I’m like, ‘Everyone returns to the WWE.’ But I’m sorry. Like, and then the funny thing is Mero’s like, ‘She’s just a parrot. She just repeats what I say.’ And it’s true.
