Ex-WWE Star Addresses Rumored Nixed Plans With John Cena
John Cena will work his final WWE match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th, 2025. His final opponent is yet to be officially confirmed.
The Champ joined WWE in 2002 and has become an established name in the company. He was the longest-running babyface in WWE before finally turning heel for a brief period in 2025.
Currently, Cena is working as a babyface once again. His most recent match was against AJ Styles at Crown Jewel. During his Farewell Tour, he has battled Cody Rhodes, Sami Zayn, Logan Paul, Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre, CM Punk, and Brock Lesnar.
Bull Buchanan opens up about nixed tag team plans with John Cena
When Cena and B2 were working together, they had entered a rivalry against Los Guerreros. A creative angle suggested that the tag team titles would be placed on John Cena and B2, but apparently, Eddie Guerrero did not want to put Buchanan over.
B2 addressed the rumor while speaking to 99.9 Punk World Radio FM’s Elite Wrestle Talk. While he had heard the rumors about the tag team titles being placed on them, he dismissed the suggestions of Eddie Guerrero’s stance about it.
I saw that, I honestly don’t know, I always thought we had good matches with Eddie and Chavo.
I had heard a rumour, you hear so much stuff you never know, I heard that there was some talk of maybe putting the Tag belts, but it was because we were working a program with Chavo and Eddie, so if you’re working a program with somebody, there’s always speculation, but I don’t know.
I’ve seen that, I don’t know, maybe if someone knows more than I do, but I always thought we had good matches with them. I never, me and Eddie never had any cross words or anything like that, we were always pretty cool, so, somebody might know more than I do, but as far as I know no. [h/t: WrestleTalk]
Reports have suggested that Gunther is being finalized as John Cena’s last opponent on his Farewell Tour.
