Ex-WWE Star Accuses Company Of Stealing His Idea For Another Wrestler
A popular wrestling star has revealed going through an unsavory experience while in WWE.
Eric Young worked in the Stamford promotion from 2016 to 2020, for the majority of which he led the SAnitY faction, before going on a solo run, followed by his ultimate departure.
Before debuting on WWE, Young was a regular on Total Nonstop Action (TNA), where he wrestled for 12 years. There, he won multiple championships, including the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.
Young started on NXT, which is where he formed SAnitY. Other members of the faction included Nikki Cross, Alexander Wolfe, and Sawyer Fulton; Fulton was later replaced by Killian Dain.
At NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III in August 2017, he and Wolfe won the NXT Tag Team Championship by defeating Authors of Pain.
They lost their title to The Undisputed Era duo of Bobby Fish and Kelly O’Reilly after 123 days as champions.
In April 2018, SAnitY debuted on SmackDown barring Nikki Cross, where they feuded with the likes of The Usos and The New Day. A year later, the faction was disbanded.
Eric Young was drafted to RAW as a solo competitor, where he found himself challenging for the WWE 24/7 Championship, before suffering a string of losses. He was released from the promotion during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Eric Young Reveals Stolen Idea On WWE Main Roster
Eric Young would have been hopeful about his run on the WWE main roster, but the incident that followed was anything but.
Appearing on the Developmentally Speaking podcast, he detailed pitching an idea, which was stolen and given to another wrestler, after which he stopped doing it.
I had pitched some really cool ideas, they ended up stealing one of them and using them for other people. I’m not going to get into that, that made me stop pitching ideas because if they’re just going to take them and give them to other people, there’s no sense of me wasting my breath. [H/T: Fightful]
