Ex-WWE Star Confirms Shocking 2-Year Non-Compete Clause
A former WWE figure has made a surprising revelation.
After four years with WWE, Samantha Irvin announced she was leaving the company in the hours leading up to the October 21, 2024, episode of Raw. The star has become beloved by fans, with her tearful confirmation of Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania World Title win set to become the stuff of legend.
While many expected Irvin to join her husband, Ricochet, in AEW, she’s instead chosen to work on several non-wrestling projects, including a music career. However, it seems there may have been other forces impacting her decision.

In a post on social media, Irvin responded to a fan who pointed out that it had been a year since she left WWE. She explained that while she’s currently focusing on music, the wrestling industry might not have seen the last of her.
But incredibly, she has another year left on her non-compete clause.
One year down, one year left on my non-compete! Can’t wait 😛 I hope you enjoy my songs in the meantime and look back on all the memories as fondly as I do! Love & miss you all, and remember- I NEVER left FOR music, I am music. Hope to see you soon…..
The subject of non-compete clauses in wrestling has come to the fore once again in recent weeks, thanks to the confusing situation around Andrade.
On October 1, the star returned to AEW after a spell with WWE, confronting Kenny Omega on Dynamite. However, he hasn’t been seen since.
This was followed by a report that claimed Andrade was subject to a non-compete clause. This usually means that a main roster talent can’t wrestle elsewhere for 90 days. At the time of his departure, it was believed that, as the star had been fired due to wellness policy violations, a non-compete clause didn’t apply.
To further complicate matters, it was then reported that new WWE/TKO contracts come with a one-year non-compete clause if the talent involved is fired. If enforced, this clause could keep Andrade out of the ring until September 2026.
