Ex-WWE Star Reveals Royalty Check; Wants Vince McMahon “Behind Bars”
Former WWE Intercontinental Champion Ryback has been in dispute with the company since before he was released from his contract in 2016.
Ryback left WWE under a cloud in 2016 with his last match in the company coming three months before he officially left. Depending on who you believe WWE either stopped using Ryback due to a contract dispute or the star went home of his own accord, frustrated by several things including what he and his fellow stars were paid.
Taking to social media, Ryback shared a video where he showed how much a recent royalty check from the company was worth and added a caption calling the company “one of the worst” for paying their talent a fair wage and that people had sacrificed their health all to line the pockets of Vince McMahon:
“WWE actually is one of the worst organizations for paying talent appropriately for what the company actually profits. You have men and women who sacrafice their health and often times quality of lives to line the pockets of VKM. WWE and VKM have manipulated, lied, and abused humans for far too long and the ending of VKM is not going to be a fairytale ending.
“I am the truth in a business of corruption and they will fail in silencing me for much longer. Please like and share as much as possible not for me, but your favorite superstars who deserve better for what they have given! #Ryback #WWE #VinceMcMahon #FeedMeMore”

What does WWE pay talents in royalties?
If Ryback’s royalty check is standard for all former WWE stars it means that the company is paying them around 8.1% of the money the company receives each quarter for things such as media and licensing rights.
Among many other things, residual and royalty payments are one of the reasons the acting union SAG-AFTRA is currently on strike which has brought Hollywood productions to a standstill.
