Ex-WWE Name Doesn’t Like To Comment On Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon

A former WWE employee has reflected on working for Vince McMahon.

In January, former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE. The lawsuit contained allegations of sexual assault and sex trafficking, and McMahon later left the company, although he continues to deny any wrongdoing.

Following the filing of the lawsuit, McMahon’s behaviour during his time in WWE came to the fore, along with earlier allegations of sexual assault. This in turn has created an interest in what it was like to work for McMahon, especially for those with WWE for several years.

One such figure is Jonathan Coachman who worked for WWE from 1999 to 2008, and 2018 and 2021.

During an interview with Bill Apter for Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, Coachman was asked for his thoughts on the disgraced WWE boss.

“I don’t really have any thoughts about him in 2024 to be honest with you. I don’t like to comment on him, because at one point I was around him a lot, and I took a lot from what he taught us.”

Vince McMahon Didn’t Care About Family

Coachman said that while he learned a lot while working for McMahon and WWE, the former chairman didn’t care about his family.

“The positive stuff is learning how when the red light comes on, timing, emphasis, storytelling, all the stuff that kind of makes high-level pro wrestling what it is. Also the grind. We were forced into the grind, and in my first 10-year run, I only missed one Monday night. I look back on it now, and there’s a lot of regrets I have as far as things I missed because we couldn’t stand up for ourselves.

I was at Christmas Eve, and I was back home in Kansas. You get a call to come back and shoot something in Connecticut. Because he wanted to go to Florida to be with his family, and really didn’t care about my family. So I did it because I never told him…. I only told him no once, and I got beat up for that. So, it is what it is.”

The incident Jonathan Coachman is referring to took place during his initial run with WWE. The former announcer said he was punished for not going to Afghanistan on a WWE tour by being beaten down by The Undertaker and Batista in a segment for the live crowd after an episode of SmackDown went off the air.
