Ex-WWE Champion’s Return Confirmed After 3-Month Absence

A former champion in WWE is on their way back to the ring despite going missing for three months with no explanation.

At NXT Stand & Deliver, The Family faced DarkState in a six-man tag team match. DarkState was able to pick up the win after Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo betrayed Tony D’Angelo, nailing his boss with a low blow.

Adriana Rizzo was sent to the mattresses and out of harm’s way while Luca Crusifino initially tried to show loyalty to Tony D’Angelo before nailing The Don and Stacks Lorenzo to strike out as his own man.

This all led to an explosive triple threat match between the male members of The Family. Tony D’Angelo proved why he is The Don of NXT as he dominated the action to pick up the decisive win.

On the July 29th edition of NXT, D’Angelo might have met his fate in the same way Tony Soprano once did in Holsten’s with a mouthful of the best onion rings in the state.

Tony D’Angelo Scheduled For WWE Return

A video aired on NXT of D’Angelo getting ready to eat as he tells the waiter he no longer needs to be known as “The Don” and that Tony D is just fine. However, a presence is soon felt as a shadow is cast over D’Angelo’s face as he looks up before the scene cuts to black. And he hasn’t been seen since.

Following NXT Showdown with TNA, WWE’s third brand is back on the road for three shows on October 9th, 10th, and 11th. The show on the 10th takes place in Detroit, and Tony D’Angelo is among the names advertised for that show. That would mark his first match since an NXT live event on the 25th of July.
