Ex-WWE Champion’s Future Plans Revealed
It appears that the future plans of a former WWE Champion have now been revealed.
Xavier Woods recently signed a new “multi-year” contract with WWE. However, the agreement wasn’t as cut and dried as some fans may have believed. Negotiations reportedly went down to the wire, with Woods on the verge of becoming a free agent in September.
And it seems he won’t be alone for the foreseeable future in WWE.
Kofi Kingston Sticking With WWE
Fightful Select has now reported that Woods’ tag team partner Kofi Kingston also isn’t going anywhere. The report noted that Kingston re-signed with WWE earlier in 2025, with sources in the company indicating that his new deal was a five-year contract. That means Kingston would be approaching his 49th birthday when that deal came to an end.
The New Day heartbreakingly turned on Big E as the group celebrated its tenth anniversary towards the end of 2024 and is now hated by WWE fans.
As one of the most decorated tag teams of all time, The New Day are certain to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame when the group calls it a day. Given his solo accolades in the ring, Kofi Kingston will likely be considered for a solo induction at some point in the future as well.
By signing up The New Day to new deals, WWE has avoided the bizarre situation it got into with Santos Escobar, who has apparently re-signed with the company a day after he was meant to be leaving.
