WWE Superstar The Miz remains confident in his abilities despite not currently having a match at WrestleMania 41.

The former two-time WWE Champion looked set to continue a major storyline with The Wyatt Sicks ahead of the company’s top Premium LIve Event on 19th & 20th April, potentially leading to a huge bout at ‘the showcase of the immortals’.

With Uncle Howdy, portrayed by Bo Dallas, currently sidelined by injury, The Miz looks set to miss out on a match at the legendary event that he headlined back in 2011. On that occasion ‘The A-Lister’ defeated John Cena to retain his WWE Championship thanks to interference from The Rock.

Speaking to Metro’s Alistair McGeorge ahead of the 28th March edition of SmackDown at London’s o2 Arena, the former WWE Champion shared his disappointment at missing WrestleMania whilst noting that he still believes he can compete at the top level with anybody:

‘”No! No, it’s not easy! You kidding me? As a WWE superstar, if your goal is not to main event WrestleMania and be the WWE or [World Heavyweight] Champion, then you shouldn’t be here.

So my goal is always to do that. If the cards don’t fall where they may, you better believe I’m trying my best to to try to get into a spot, or trying to get to that level of what I feel I can produce.

And I do feel I can produce at that level still to this day. It’s just, you know, sometimes the cards don’t fall where they may.”

WWE Hall Of Famer Criticizes John Cena Promo

The headline bout at WrestleMania 27 was just one of two occasions where The Miz has squared off against John Cena on the ‘grandest stage of them all’, having also teamed with wife Maryse in a losing effort against Cena and then-partner Nikki Bella at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, Florida.

Having portrayed a babyface for two decades, Cena turned heel at Elimination Chamber by aligning with The Rock and viciously assaulting his upcoming opponent, Cody Rhodes.

The legendary Superstar explained his actions on the 17th March edition of Raw, delivering a promo which was later criticized by Eric Bischoff for lacking drama.
