Ex-WWE Champion Reveals Truth About Heat With Brock Lesnar
A former WWE Champion has given their side of the story about apparent heat with Brock Lesnar.
In 2017, the wrestling world was shocked when one-time laughing stock Jinder Mahal captured the WWE Championship. Mahal was still champion when the company began advertising brand vs. brand matches for that year’s Survivor Series. Originally, Jinder Mahal was pitted against then-Universal Champion Brock Lesnar. But that match did not end up happening.
Instead, just days before Survivor Series took place, AJ Styles dethroned Mahal for the WWE Title and instead went on to face Lesnar at the pay-per-view. Rumours began to swirl that Brock Lesnar refused to work with Jinder Mahal, but it seems that might not have been the case.
Brock Lesnar Respected Ex-WWE Champion
Speaking with Inside The Ropes, former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal spoke about the situation with Brock Lesnar and claimed that he was never treated by The Beast Incarnate with anything but respect:
Nobody told me Brock doesn’t want to work you, etc. In fact, Brock showed me nothing but respect, even to the very end of the time that I was in WWE. If Brock sees me in the locker room, he shows me the utmost respect always, handshake, hug, and I don’t see him treat that like I don’t see him that way with everybody… Me and Brock have a certain respect for each other.
