5-Time WWE Champion To Become Free Agent Within Days
A TNA star will soon be a free agent.
As reported by Fightful Select, Cedric Alexander’s TNA contract expires “imminently.” This would see Alexander once again become a free agent around Bound For Glory on October 12.
The former WWE Superstar signed a short-term contract with the company back in July. He’s since gone on to battle the likes of Mustafa Ali, Leon Slater, Mike Santana, and more. However, he’s not currently scheduled to compete at Bound for Glory or NXT vs TNA Showdown on October 7.
According to the same report, there are several other stars whose deals run out at around the same time.
Alexander has been linked with a move to AEW for several months to link back up with MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin whom he teamed in WWE as The Hurt Business. During this period, he won the World Tag Team Championship with Benjamin.
In an interview in June, MVP said he’d love to work with Cedric Alexander again.
Joe Hendry Staying With TNA… For Now
During a recent interview, TNA President Carlos Silva denied that Joe Hendry is now “with WWE” despite recent on-screen comments from Robert Roode. In a backstage segment on a recent episode of NXT, Roode said that it might be time for Hendry to focus on the NXT Championship now that he’s with the brand.
Silva said that Hendry is still under contract with TNA, but didn’t give any assurances about his long-term future.
It’s previously been reported that Hendry will officially sign with WWE in early 2026 once his current deal expires.
