Ex-WWE Champion Returning On SmackDown
A top WWE star will be back on SmackDown.
Following SummerSlam WWE is in chaos. The Judgment Day has exploded, Gunther is the new World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk and Drew McIntyre still hate each other, Roman Reigns is back and Odyssey Jones has finally debuted on Raw.
The main event of the summer spectacular ended with Reigns making his first appearance since WrestleMania to come to the aid of Cody Rhodes. The American Nightmare had his back against the wall in his clash with Solo Sikoa following interference from Tonga Loa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu.
Following the show it was announced Roman Reigns will return to SmackDown on August 9th to address his position in The Bloodline.
With Reigns out of action, Sikoa has assumed control of the group, adding Tonga, Loa, and Fatu while kicking Jimmy Uso to the curb following WrestleMania. Paul Heyman has been missing since refusing to acknowledge Sikoa as his Tribal Chief at SmackDown in Madison Square Garden.
One More Return Confirmed For WWE SmackDown
Meanwhile, it’s been reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider that AJ Styles will be making his own return at the taping. Styles hasn’t been seen on WWE television since losing an “I Quit” Match to Cody Rhodes at Clash At The Castle: Scotland in June.
Styles has enjoyed an impressive 2024 to date repeatedly challenging for World Championship gold both before and after turning heel in February.
