WWE has had many iconic champions over the years, many of whom have either retired or are nearing retirement. One such iconic wrestler is none other than the current Intercontinental Champion, John Cena.

Cena is just two matches away from hanging up his boots as he retires at next month’s Saturday Night’s Main Event. The 17-time World Champion announced last year that this would be his final year as an in-ring competitor.

Throughout the year, many fans have speculated that Cena might delay his retirement at least till next year’s WrestleMania, but Cena has rejected the idea on multiple occasions and recently made his final appearance on Monday Night RAW.

John Cena will wrestle his last WWE match next month

The Champ recently appeared on an episode of RAW Recap, where he reiterated his decision of retiring after next month. John Cena has often said that he wouldn’t continue wrestling if he can’t give his 100% inside the ring and will stick by his decision.

“I know there’s a lot of speculation, or there was at one point, like, ‘Oh, they’re just going to run him through WrestleMania [42] because that’s the end of everyone’s story’ because that’s the way everyone did it before him. I told everybody fifteen months ago that I was going to do this. I told them I was going to do a year, and after this, it’s done, and I don’t say that as a bad thing,” Cena said.

He will wrestle his penultimate match at this month’s Survivor Series, where he faces Dominik Mysterio for his Intercontinental Championship before turing his attention to his final WWE match.
