In the modern era of WWE, it is hard to find a group that has been more enduring or more popular for as long as The New Day trio of Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, and Big E.

Together they have captured different versions of the WWE Tag Team Championship on several occasions while Woods has found individual success as King of the Ring while Big E and Kingston have both reached the mountaintop and held the WWE Championship.

Big E has been out of action since suffering a broken neck due to a horrific landing in a match in March 2022. He has recently addressed his wrestling future amid continuing uncertainty on when or if he will return to the ring.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that pitches were made within WWE for The New Day to reunite for an appearance in front of the crowd at least at WrestleMania 39:

“I don’t think if anything will come of this or if Kingston’s injury changes this, but we had heard of an idea for E to be at WrestleMania and the three of them would come out together if that would be the right thing to do and if E could come back soon.”

Kofi Kingston recently suffered a serious injury of his own that required surgery and it is not known when he or Big E will be fit to return to action.
