Ex-WWE Champion Defends Nia Jax Against Criticism
Nia Jax is receiving a lot of heat for her recent match on SmackDown.
On the September 26 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Tiffany Stratton successfully defeated Nia Jax and Jade Cargill in a triple threat match for the WWE Women’s Championship. During the match, Jax accidentally slammed Cargill too hard onto the steel steps at ringside, which caused the ex-AEW star to sustain a bloody open wound.
Later, the fans also saw a clumsy finish to the match as Nia Jax failed to kick out at two, thereby creating confusion. Luckily, they quickly saved the match, but the damage was already done. Following SmackDown, fans logged onto Twitter/X to lambast Jax for her awkward performance on SmackDown.
Many stars stood up for Jax, defending her from all the hate and criticism on social media. Tom Pestock (fka Baron Carbon) slammed back at the fans for being rude and ignorant. Former WWE Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green also came to Jax’s protection, reminding the fans that Jax is a valued member of the WWE locker room.
Green tweeted:
The internet not knowing that Nia is one of the best is the biggest travesty. We’re lucky to have her as a locker room leader.

Bully Ray Defends Nia Jax Following SmackDown
Speaking on the recent episode of the Busted Open podcast, veteran Bully Ray explained why the major botch that happened during the SmackDown main event wasn’t all Nia Jax’s fault. This is what he said.
“You see Jade sit on Nia’s chest and hook both of her legs. Nia is looking towards her left, and Nia is looking at Tiffany Stratton. Why is Nia looking at Tiffany Stratton? Because Nia knows that Tiffany is responsible for making the save. Nia realizes that Tiffany is not going to be there in time… Tiffany is definitively late, which puts Nia in a bad position where she has to kick out.”
