Ex-WWE Champion Marries For Third Time At 65

A former champion in WWE has walked a different aisle for the third time in their life as they get married once again.

It’s unlikely that Shakespeare had professional wrestling in mind when he wrote, “The course of true love never did run smooth,” but it’s certainly an apt phrase for the business.

A happy Marriage and pro wrestling have proved to be odd bedfellows over the years, with few couples able to stand the test of time with the huge amount of travelling and time spent apart to overcome.

Former WWE Intercontinental Champion Marc Mero once shared a life with another WWE star in Sable. Sable was not part of the business when Mero made the jump from WCW to WWE in the mid-nineties, but she soon became one, making her debut at WrestleMania 12 as Hunter Hearst-Helmsley’s on-screen valet. That led to a program between Mero and Helmsley with the newly christened “Wildman” reunited with his wife on-screen.

Famously, Mero’s marriage to Sable came to an end after she began a relationship with Brock Lesnar. Sable and Lesnar are now married, and given Lesnar’s status and schedule, perhaps don’t fall into the same traps as other wrestling couples.

Ex-WWE Star Marc Mero Marries Again

Taking to social media, Mero revealed he was now married again for the third time, to his new wife, Malissa:

Today at 2:04 PM, Malissa and I were married in a private ceremony that was truly beautiful. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude. God’s timing is real, and today felt like a promise fulfilled. Here’s to the rest of our lives together. I’ll never forget this day.
