A former champion in WWE has admitted they were lucky to have any hair left after a very physical match.

Chelsea Green recaptured the WWE Women’s United States Championship in November 2025, making her the first two-time holder of that title. Green had defeated Giulia for the gold, but it was not a good start to 2026 for the Canadian star.

On the first SmackDown of the new year, Giulia got her chance to win back her title as she challenged Green. On the night when Green’s husband, Matt Cardona, made his surprise return to WWE, Green lost her title to Giulia, but she’s lucky she didn’t lose even more.

WWE Star Left Limping After SmackDown Match

Speaking to TMZ Sports, Chelsea Green admitted that her match with Giulia was more physical than any of her bouts in Japan and noted that she was lucky to have any hair left after it:

So, full disclosure, I’m lucky to have hair left after that match. I was limping on both legs. It was definitely like a Japanese strong style match. And I’ve been to Japan. That was the hardest Japanese strong style match I’ve ever had.

Even after living in Japan and wrestling [Kairi Sane] and [Iyo Sky] and [Mayu Iwatani] and all of the Stardom girls. It was really, really rough. I have to give it to Giulia because she beat my ass.
