Ex-WWE Champion Finally Returns After 2-Month Absence
A WWE star has reappeared on programming after having missed a couple of months of action.
Ridge Holland was part of the Brawling Brutes stable alongside Sheamus and Butch from 2021 to 2023. The group experienced dissension between Holland and Butch, leading to its disbandment.
In December 2023, Holland appeared on WWE NXT. After mostly wrestling as a singles competitor, he allied with Andre Chase of the Chase University faction.
The duo beat Fraxiom to claim the NXT Tag Team Championship; however, their reign would last only 19 days. After the match, Holland launched an attack on Chase, ending their alliance.
Holland’s last appearance was during the NXT Championship #1 Contender Battle Royal match on 6 May 2025, ultimately won by Myles Borne.
He then disappeared from mainstream TV, only wrestling once on a non-televised house show match against Noam Dar.
This led to viewers speculating about the star’s future with the Stamford-based company, but his reappearance has shut down rumors for good.
WWE’s Plans For Ridge Holland Revealed
Ridge Holland made a surprise debut on WWE Evolve on the July 9 episode. It’s fair to assume that he will stay with the brand for the near future.
The 37-year-old was featured in a backstage segment, engaged in a discussion with General Manager Stevie Turner.

He expressed his intent to challenge the winner of the match between Lince Dorado and Jackson Drake for the Evolve Championship, but this was declined.
He then got into a confrontation with Tate Wilder, who challenged Holland, setting up a future clash between the two wrestlers.
